Item Not Received (INR) Fraud

Item Not Received (INR) fraud is a form of friendly fraud where individuals falsely claim that a package was not delivered, or assert that the box was empty or partially empty, to obtain a refund or replacement. To protect against INR fraud, retailers can require signatures upon delivery for valuable shipments, clearly define and communicate their policies for lost packages, and consider offering store credit instead of refunds.
